I wanted to share with you a bit about why we produced our summertime checking out program.
For me, it was since of my students.
Over the years of mentor in my personal knowing center, moms and dads would bring their children to me that lagged in reading and spelling.

Often they were just a bit behind, sometimes they were way behind, and sometimes they were at grade level and just wished to advance quicker.
Often this was due to the fact that the trainees had finding out troubles like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply because the teachers did not teach all of the specific abilities required to read.

The problem was that I was just able to see them for an hour at a time and just twice a week.
How could I get these students' skills up while not simply providing a band-aid service?
Standard tutors typically just work on research. This does not attend to the root cause of trainees' difficulties and does not in fact get their skills up.

The program does take some participation from a moms and dad for grades K-2, but for grades 3-8, the majority of kids can do most activities in the program by themselves.
